One of my favorite chefs! His book “Jamie at home” came out in 2007 and I bought it right away… It has been used ever since and is filled with donkey ears, sticky notes and sticky pages. I love the fact most of his dishes are inspired by Italy and use fresh, seasonal ingredients. ThisContinue reading “Jamie Oliver’s Tomato Salad”
I am convinced that Ghee makes everything better… seriously, it’s my new bacon. For those of you who don’t know what Ghee is: It’s clarified butter. But what does that mean? Ghee is butter but the water and milk solids have been removed. Therefor it has a slightly higher fat content gram for gram thanContinue reading “Frittata with Kale, Mushroom and Ghee”
Two staples in my household; eggs and avocados. We’re stuck inside because of the winter weather and that, of course, challenges me to use everything I have in my pantry and fridge first, before even thinking about going out for groceries. What is Keto?
When you eat “Keto”, you strive to keep your carbohydrates low (20-50 grams a day) your proteins moderate and your fat intake high.
There is so much to share about this way of eating, but to keep it simple for now, it is a high fat way of eating that can reap major health benefits in the long run.
Please know, that all of the featured recipes are high in fats and low in carbohydrates. If you are not following a Keto lifestyle, these recipes might not be suitable for your dietary needs.
Quick Keto tips
- Always check the label on the products you use. You may think they are low in carbs, but you’ll be surprised how much sugars are added to various products.
- Just because something is Keto, doesn’t mean that it can be eaten in unlimited amounts. Except for Rebel ice cream….. nah, just kidding… I wish 🙂
- Natural sugars are sugars too! Just because honey is a natural sugar, doesn’t mean it doesn’t raise your blood sugar.
- Drink your water!
Taking care of your body and eating healthy doesn’t mean your tastebuds have to suffer!— Annika
Don’t give up and take it one step at a time. Everyone messes up, but consistency is key. If you’re consistent, those messy days will matter less.— Annika
This site is a recipe database and is designed to help people find and choose recipes that fit their lifestyle. I do not intend to make health claims of any sort. Always check with your physician before starting a new way of eating.
Also, I do not sell or receive anything through this site. I voluntarily share my experiences with Keto cooking and will add the source and author of the recipes whenever possible, including a link to the cook books when I have one. These links are not commissioned.
